However you choose to describe it, the Church of St. Elizabeth is a Bratislava must-see and it's just 20 minutes on foot from Mamaison Residence Sulekova Bratislava - or just eight minutes if you choose to pursue your destination by car. The little blue church of Bratislava is an Art Nouveau masterpiece. Built to honor Elizabeth of Hungary - also known as Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia or Saint Elisabeth of Thuringia - is a one-nave church erected between 1909-1913. The portrait of the queen stands above the church's portal like a stamp of approval.

The Church of St. Elizabeth was designed by Ödön Lechner in Hungarian secessionist style. The pale blue hues used to decorate the church - including, oddly enough, its roof - gave it its unofficial nickname. Today, the little blue church of Bratislava is celebrated as one of the city's most interesting art nouveau landmarks. When in Bratislava, many couples choose this temple to tie the knot - in fact, the Church of St. Elizabeth is a top favorite for religious wedding ceremonies in the city. The church is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm, or, if you are to believe unofficial records, opening times vary.
